ORM’s second original studio album is a fast-track course on how to move from simple, but tastefully arranged, disco to engaging illustrative music, progressive rock and chill-out in four years. And that’s before chill-out was even created! ORM spent most of the 1980s as the creators behind the success of the pop singing duo Kamelie (aka Hana a Dana). They also often created musical illustrations for film and television. Based on those experiences, in 1983 they completed the mostly instrumental “Tropic” album, which is undoubtedly the greatest piece in their discography. It is an immersing trip, where disco rhythms come together with oriental synthesizer impressions, and drifting tunes with guitar creations which make one think of Camel best albums! Similarly to their debut, “Discofil”, everything delights the listener with precise arrangements and a perfect feel. “Tropic” is being released for the first time as a CD, remastered from original tapes and enriched with tracks from two singles released by the group. The booklet features unique photos and information about the history of the recordings.
